Intergenerational relations

In 2011, the “National Week of Retired and Elderly Persons” (Semaine Bleue, 17 to 23 October 2011) in France was placed under the motto “At every age: close and supportive actors” (À tout âge: acteurs proches et solidaires). This is an annual awareness-raising campaign on generational solidarity carried out by French associations and organizations. A “generation prize” is also awarded annually during this week.

In the United Kingdom, the ‘Centre for Intergenerational Practice’ of the Beth Johnson Foundation published “A Guide to Intergenerational Practice” in March 2011, which is mainly directed to local authorities and the voluntary sector.
