Birgit Sittermann, M.A., works as a research officer for the Frankfurt project team of the Observatory for Sociopolitical Developments in Europe. A political scientist, she had been on the staff of the predecessor project, the “Observatory for the development of social services in Europe”, since November 2007. Volunteering, comparative European social policy and social services are her areas of specialisation.
